Three’s Company

Our obsession began with Colonial Cocktail Bitters, but it didn’t end there. Inspired by subsequent eras in American history, we have spent countless hours crafting bold new recipes and blending unique flavors of the time to produce a line of bitters which provide perfect cocktail complements. It’s revolutionary! So without further adieu, we are very pleased to introduce you to Boomtown Bitters and ProhiBitters.

Dutch’s Boomtown Bitters combine sarsaparilla and wintergreen, ingredients used in carbonated soft drinks introduced in the 19th century, with flavors representing American whiskies of the day such as coconut and oak from the maturing cask.

Inspired by the bathtub booze of the prohibition era, Dutch’s ProhiBitters is a blend of flavors tailored to tweak that gin martini. Predominant citrus notes blend with licorice, hibiscus, ginger root and coriander.

You may also notice that our Colonial Cocktail Bitters just got a facelift! Better looking on the outside, same great flavor on the inside.

Fond memories from recent events

There’s pretty much no better way to celebrate the Fall than at an apple orchard/ cider mill/ farm market/ local craft distillery tasting room, which is exactly what we did Columbus Day weekend! Thank you Orchard Hill for letting us take over the crockpot and providing us with the best damn cider around.

Hot cider moonshine toddys anyone? Check out Orchard Hill in New Hampton and see what all the fuss is about…

And a very happy birthday to The Flatiron Room! On October 29th, we joined The Flatiron Room aboard a luxury cruise vessel to celebrate its one year anniversary. Local distilleries came out to support the favorite Manhattan newbie and offer a taste of the kind of craft spirits presented there. Guests enjoyed spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty, fantastic music, food, and of course, some delicious moonshine.

Harvest Homestead Dispatch

Well, Thanksgiving is just around the corner and we’ve certainly had quite the bounty to be thankful for here on the farm. We harvested 130 tons of corn from 35 acres, filling up two of those silver silos and then some. One week later we seeded five of those acres with rye. Looking forward to seeing all the fruits of our labor come springtime! Davis Frame is almost finished up here, having just added the cupolas to our “barn”. We can’t thank them enough for the incredible job and quality craftsmanship they put into the project. We’ll be working inside all winter to get our house in order for those big copper houseguests. We’ve been busy “beneath” the scenes too, getting those bunkers safe and sound for all that liquid gold we’ll be burying in them. They stood strong for eighty years. Here’s to at least eighty more…
